Jack Larkin, a partner at Gawthrop Greenwood in West Chester, has been elected Ward 1 Commissioner for the Radnor Board of Commissioners.

Larkin is a member of Gawthrop Greenwood’s Litigation Department, where he focuses his practice on municipal and corporate litigation. He’s also a member and former chair of the American Red Cross Leadership Board.

“I ran for a lot of reasons, but chief among them was to help bring a sense of collegiality back to the board,” said Larkin. “I strongly believe that a board that works well together, and works well with its constituents, will be able to productively turn its attention to the second issue that matters most to me: modernizing and repairing the township’s aging infrastructure.”

Larkin points to recent storms that have damaged homes and property in the area.

“This underscores the importance of establishing an effective, township-wide system of stormwater management, road improvement, and tree maintenance,” he said.

Prior to joining Gawthrop Greenwood, Larkin was an appellate litigator in the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, where he appeared regularly before the Pennsylvania Superior Court, and periodically handled appeals to the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

He continues his appellate practice today, civilly, before the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and Pennsylvania’s Superior and Commonwealth Courts.

Larkin’s published works have appeared in law journals at the Georgetown University School of Law, Vanderbilt Law School, the University of Florida Law School, and the American Journal of Trial Advocacy, as well as in the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Bar Quarterly and At Issue publications.

He is graduate of Oberlin College and Villanova Law School.
