The Arc of Chester County, a human services nonprofit serving children and adults with disabilities, raised more than $86,000 at its annual Arc Achievement Run, Walk & Fun Day.

More than 300 walkers, runners, and volunteers participated in the event at The Arc’s facility in West Chester.

The Downingtown Dominators kicked off the run with a cheer. Event participants enjoyed a visit from the Phillie Phanatic and Swoop, the Eagles’ mascot, as well as music from the Walt Kinsey Beach Band, Bryn Mawr Trust Ice Cream Truck, face painting, food, games, and more.

“The support that the community has provided to this event and our organization has been incredible,” said Jeanne Meikrantz, Executive Director of The Arc of Chester County. “We are grateful for the many local businesses who sponsored the event or donated resources and materials, as well as the many individual donors, teams, and volunteers from across the area who donated their time, talent, and treasure to make this event a success.”

Meikrantz specifically thanked PECO, the event’s title sponsor, for its ongoing support of the organization.

“The work we do is only possible because of our community partners,” she said. “We are extremely thankful for their ongoing support.”

Funding from this event supports The Arc’s programs and services that serve 3,000 individuals with disabilities and their families in Chester County and the surrounding community.
