First Priority Bank Asks for Help in Keeping Pets at Home, Out of Animal Shelters

By

First Priority Bank is asking for help as it works to keep companion pets in homes and out of animal shelters.

The bank is collecting pet food and pet care items on Wednesday, April 11, which is also National Pet Day, from 11 AM-2 PM at its new West Chester branch, located at 237 East Gay Street. (Donations can actually be dropped off at any branch location.) Owners and their pets are also encouraged to stop by and enjoy some refreshments and treats.

First Priority will be accepting pet food (unopened dry and canned food), including food for dogs, cats, birds, fish, guinea pigs, hamsters, ferrets, and rabbits. It will also accept pet accessories – like litter boxes, collars and leashes, animal bedding, treats, toys, etc. – and operating supplies, such as envelopes, stamps, packing tape, shelving, bags, and gift cards.

Monetary donations will also be accepted.

Items collected will benefit the Animal House Project, which does business as the Chester County Pet Food Pantry and has a mission to help companion pets stay at home and out of animal shelters by providing donated pet food and pet care services to pet families in financial need.
