For the Love of Conversation: Phoenixville Couple’s Storytelling Venture Adds Podcasts

By

Shannon and Mike Mannon

The Phoenixville couple who has been interviewing famous people for its 3-Minute Storyteller short videos for three years are now adding podcasts, writes Michaela Winberg for Billy Penn.

Mike Mannon and his wife Shannon began their storytelling adventure with the goal of creating a set of stories from artists, activists, and other inspiring people. Every interview is then trimmed to three minutes, making them easy to watch online.

“We’ve actually been surprised what a story you can tell in three minutes,” said Shannon.

The couple has thus far produced more than 70 videos. These include interviews with several people from the Philadelphia area like Chef Marc Vetri and former 76ers president Pat Croce (below).

Last week, the Mannons made the leap into podcasting. But unlike their current short videos, their “For the Love of Conversation” podcast will include the complete interviews, each of which is around an hour long.

According to Shannon, the full interviews have been requested by audience members for some time now.

The two are also taking their newly restored 1974 Volkswagen bus on the road as a mobile storytelling unit, presenting stories from around the country.
