Wayne Couple Traveling to Minneapolis with Super Bowl Tickets Provided by the Eagles
Cindy and Gavin Kerr, Wayne residents who founded Ryan’s Case for Smiles, are traveling to this year’s Super Bowl courtesy of the Philadelphia Eagles, writes Linda Stein for the Daily Local News.
The charity, started in honor of their son Ryan, who lost his battle with bone cancer, has delivered more than 1.7 million colorful pillowcases to children in hospitals across the nation.
Cindy, who is now stricken with cancer herself, received a phone call from the Eagles in December. They wanted to meet with her two weeks after her surgery.
Her charity is partners with Eagles Care, so the call did not surprise her. She assumed she would receive a t-shirt or something. However, at the meeting, coach Doug Pederson surprised her with two Super Bowl tickets.
The Eagles are also paying for her and Gavin’s plane tickets and hotel accommodations.
