From DELCO: Local Comedian Releases New Book, ‘The Five People You Meet in Wawa’

The region’s legendary love for all things Wawa has now been immortalized in a book written by Philadelphia comedian Nick Kupsey, writes Marielle Mondon for PhillyVoice.

Kupsey has created a spoof of Mitch Albom’s The Five People You Meet in Heaven with his 40-page eBook entitled The Five People You Meet in Wawa. It highlights the highs, lows, and idiosyncrasies well-known to Wawa customers.

The book, available on Amazon, delves into the characters and habits that are easily recognizable to people who grew up with the Delaware County-based chain of convenience stores.

It outlines the five types of people you are almost certain to run into at a Wawa. These include the girl in pajamas, cops, weirdos, and someone only paying with change.

He also deftly describes the torture of the Wawa parking lot.

“The Wawa parking lot is reminiscent of the cantina scene in Star Wars,” Kupsey wrote. “It’s filled with all sorts of strange and weird people who look like demons and aliens, and if you steal the parking spot of a roofer, you may just lose an arm.”
