Acquisition of Three Chesco Hospitals Complete

The Reading Health System has completed the acquisition of five hospitals and their associated assets from subsidiaries of Community Health Systems.

The newly formed health system – called Tower Health – includes:

  • Reading Hospital in West Reading
  • Brandywine Hospital in Coatesville
  • Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia
  • Jennersville Hospital in West Grove
  • Phoenixville Hospital in Phoenixville
  • Pottstown Hospital in Pottstown

The acquisition was initiated when Reading Health executed an asset purchase agreement on May 25.

Tower Health includes more than 11,000 employees, and offers strong, regional, integrated healthcare provider/payer system that offers leading-edge, compassionate healthcare and wellness services to a population of 2.5 million people.
