Skilled Nursing Department

Barclay Friends has seven openings certified Nursing Assistants, seven openings for Registered Nurses, and one opening for a Restorative Nurse. The positions are full time, part time, weekends, day shifts, and night shifts.

barclay friendsCNAs provide residents with quality care by providing physical, psychosocial, and social support within the guidelines of established practice. The ideal candidates will have successfully completed an approved nursing assistant program and certification exam. They must be able to stand and walk most of their shift, and be able to bend, stoop, push, pull, lift, and transfer residents weighing 50 to 250 pounds. They should also be able to appropriately deal with challenging resident behaviors, attitudes, and demands.

Registered nurses promote and restore resident health by providing nursing care as determined by the needs of the residents and their individual plans of care. They complete daily care/medications, and supervise staff members. The ideal candidates will have current licensure by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Registered Professional Nurse.

The restorative nurse oversees the restorative nursing program, and ensures that each resident receives the services they require to achieve and maintain their highest practical level of functioning. This position is expected to prepare reports, complete staff training, and engage in person-centered care. The ideal candidate will have current licensure by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Licensed Practical Nurse and a minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a rehab setting.

Health Services Administration

Barclay Friends has an opening for a Social Services Associate, a position that will plan, develop, and organize the services in the department to enhance residents’ quality of life. Responsibilities include admissions, assessments, education, discharge planning, care plans, etc. The ideal candidate will possess a master’s degree in social work, a state license in social work, and a minimum of one to two years of experience in working with long-term care, assisted living, and a geriatric population.

Barclay Friends has an opening for a full-time Floor Care Technician who will maintain the building interior and exterior by providing floorcare services to residents’ rooms, common areas, and offices to ensure every area is kept neat, clean, and sanitary. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience using floorcare equipment and the ability to lift 50 pounds.

Barclay Friends has an opening for a full-time Housekeeper who will dust, vacuum, empty trash receptacles, and clean vents, restrooms, floors/tiles/carpets, fixtures, etc. The ideal candidate will pay close attention to detail and be able to work independently.

Personal Care

Barclay Friends has an opening for a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse, who will promote and restore residents’ health by providing nursing care as determined by the needs of the residents and their individual plans of care.

Barclay Friends has an opening for a part-time Resident Assistant, who will provide residents with quality care by providing physical, psychosocial, and social support according to Personal Care regulations. The ideal candidate must be willing to learn the state’s Personal Care regulations, and maintain a pleasant manner and be capable of dealing with others in a cooperative manner.

Dining Services

Barclay Friends has three openings for full-time Wait Staff, five openings for part-time Wait Staff, and one opening for a full-time Utility Staff.

The Wait Staff positions service residents and guests in the Turk’s Head Care, Neighborhood Dining Rooms, and any other designated dining room by providing information to help with food and beverage selection, presenting ordered choices, and maintaining dining ambiance and department sanitation. The ideal candidates will be familiar with food handling procedures and have general knowledge of Department of Health and Long-Term Care policies, procedures, and protocol relevant to food safety and resident safety.

The Utility Staff will maintain a high level of sanitation and organization in the Dining Services Department by washing all pots, pans, china, glassware and utensils. The ideal candidate will be able to remain pleasant, tactful, respectful, and professional with residents, family members, and co-workers.

Recreation

Barclay Friends has an opening for a full-time Recreation Lead who will support the activities director in meeting the social, spiritual, creative, physical, cognitive, and emotional needs of residents by assisting in the planning and implementation of a varied program of recreational activities. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of one year of experience in recreation or a related field. He/she will express interest in initiating resident activity and in cooperating with individual needs and interests.
