The Kennett Realty Group recently presented its plan to borough council to build an upscale hotel in downtown Kennett Square, writes Steven Hoffman for the Chester County Press.

The Kennett Realty Group is a partnership between Harvey, Hanna & Associates and The Commonwealth Group. Their proposed development at the intersection of Broad and Cypress streets will have between 100 and 110 rooms. It will also have a small restaurant, meeting room spaces, and two levels of parking.

The presentation was led by Edward M. Foley, an attorney with Brutscher, Foley, Milliner & Land.

The Kennett Realty Group has the land for the hotel under agreement, and the finished hotel is expected to be between seven and eight stories. However, the details still need to be finalized as the project moves through the land-development approval process.

The project is expected to create 200 jobs during construction and 40 to 45 full-time positions when completed.
