Mudslinging among Chester County supermarket chains splashed all over Philadelphia Magazine this week after Wegmans was named best in the nation for customer satisfaction. And Acme Markets bore the brunt of it.

“After shopping at Acme for a decade, Wegmans is like heaven on Earth,” one person commented in the article by Adjua Fisher.

And the sentiment is widespread. Wegmans sits atop the supermarket pedestal as a result of what Fisher considers a cult following — the article quoted another person as saying, “Wegmans is god in our family.”

Why?

Apparently you can find anything and everything at Wegmans, its store brand and organic offerings can’t be beat, and its employees are not only super friendly but incredibly helpful.
