After tasting a sip of success in Virginia, Lumi recently relocated to Malvern to pour its cold-pressed organic juices and shots onto the market alongside local manufacturer Universal Pasteurization.

Lumi has leased 6,000 square feet of Universal Pasteurization space, and shipped out its first products beginning last month, according to a Daily Local News report by Brian McCullough.

In addition to the specialized bottling — “It’s fresh-taste juice just like you would get at the orchard” — founder Hillary Murray picked Malvern for its marketing potential.

Lumi is already available at Whole Foods stores, the Malvern Buttery, the Terrain Garden Café in Glen Mills, Talula’s Daily in Philadelphia, and through nutritionists for 40 pro sports teams.

And Murray now has her eyes on corporate lunchrooms and college dining halls.

“There are tons of them here in Chester County and the area,” she said. “We would love to work with them.”

Lumi is short for Love U Mean It, a favorite parting statement among Murray’s friends.

“To this day, we still say it to each other,” she said. “I always wanted to create a company called Lumi. (It) is a commitment to our consumers. We want you to love yourself and the people you care about. So we make real food the way nature intended, without additives or any artificial ingredients.”
