Handful of Chester County High Schools Rank Among State’s Top 25 for STEM Education

A handful of Chester County high schools rank among the Top 25 public high schools for STEM education in Pennsylvania, with Downingtown STEM Academy occupying the top spot, according to a report in the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Niche.com analyzed public high schools across the state to find those that create the best foundation in science, technology, engineering, and math. The rankings were based on several factors, including SAT and ACT math scores, level of math proficiency, and enrollment in A.P. math and science classes.

Downingtown STEM Academy ranked highest in the state, with an A+ overall grade, average SAT score of 1300, and average ACT of 30.

Conestoga ranks sixth with an A+ overall grade, 80 percent math proficiency, and a 99 percent graduation rate.

Unionville placed 15th, Downingtown East is 22nd, and Great Valley ranked 23rd.
