
Chesterbrook-based AmerisourceBergen placed 11th, just behind AT&T and Ford Motor and slightly ahead of Amazon, General Electric, and Verizon.
The pharmaceutical giant, led by CEO Steven H. Collis, grew revenue by eight percent – to $146.8 billion – in the 2016 fiscal year.
AmerisourceBergen was founded in 1985, yet it’s the company’s 23rd straight year on the Fortune 500 list.

In total, Fortune 500 companies represent two-thirds of the U.S. Gross Domestic Product with $12 trillion in revenues, $890 billion in profits, $19 trillion in market value, and employ 28.2 million people worldwide.
To be considered for the Fortune 500, companies must file financial statements with a government agency, be incorporated inside the U.S., and must also report financial statements for a minimum of three-quarters of the fiscal year.
