After more than three decades of serving the company with distinction, David W. Neu, a longtime executive of leading specialty pharmaceutical services provider AmerisourceBergen Corp., will retire by the end of the summer, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Working out of AmerisourceBergen’s Valley Forge offices, Neu is the Executive Vice President of Retail Strategy and President of its Good Neighbor Pharmacy, the unit that supports the work of independent pharmacists. He is also Chairman of the Board for the Healthcare Distribution Management Association and was elected to the board of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores last year.

“Dave has been a true friend and mentor to many including me,” said Steven H. Collis, Chairman and CEO of AmerisourceBergen. “He has inspired so many of us with his tremendous energy, dedication to our customers and an approachable manner that has motivated associates at every level of our organization.”

Brian Nightengale will replace Neu as President of Good Neighbor Pharmacy effective immediately. Nightengale is President of Xcenda, the pharmaceutical services and consulting firm that was acquired by AmerisourceBergen in 2007.  He has worked at Xcenda for over two decades and is one of its original employees.
