A recently compiled list by Niche.com highlights the best places to buy a home in Greater Philadelphia this spring, and Devon topped the list. This home on Berkley Road is currently on the market for almost $1.5 million.

Spring is here, and with the change in season, people often take some time to consider the benefits of moving into a new home, according to a staff report for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

To help with this, Niche.com has a compiled a list of the best places to make your home in all of Greater Philadelphia. It was created by analyzing factors such as the average price to purchase or rent a home, family friendliness, public schools, nightlife, and crime.

First on the list is Devon, with the highest rating of A+ for public schools and housing and a B each for nightlife and diversity. The median home value in Devon is $549,100, with 93 percent of residents owning their own home.

Next is Chesterbrook, with an average home value of $302,200.

Other prime areas across not only the county, but the entire region include Upper Uwchlan, Charlestown, Birmingham, and Westtown townships, and Chadds Ford, Lionville, and Kenilworth.
