Lincoln University to Perform Spring Musical This Weekend; Admission Is Free

Lincoln University’s Performing Arts Department will present its spring musical, A Night on Broadway, from April 7-8 in the Ware Center Theater on main campus.

Evening performances are Friday and Saturday at 7 PM, and a Saturday matinee is at 2 PM. The 75-minute show has free admission; donations are welcome.

The cast – comprised of community members and a variety of Lincoln students with music majors, minors, and dancers – will perform a total of 15 songs from well-known Broadway and off-Broadway musicals like A Chorus Line, The Color Purple, and Shrek the Musical.

The 18-member ensemble will be backed up by a conductor and trio of musicians performing along with a student crew doing everything from lights, sound, set, and scenery to makeup and assistant directing.

Christine Limb directs the show, Jaden Baird is the assistant director, Helen Meacham is the accompanist, and Cathy Quigley serves as choreographer.
