In launching the Millennial Task Force, Mark Rupsis wants millennials to lead the conversation in Chester County about how to make the most of their time and talents serving Chester County citizens.

They’re the new majority of recent hires, and they’re the future of Chester County government. And because of that, Chief Operating Officer Mark Rupsis is looking to millennials to lead the conversation about how to make the most of their time and talents serving Chester County citizens.

Rupsis is about to launch a Millennial Task Force made up of county employees with leadership potential, according to a Daily Local News report by Michael Rellahan.

“This is important because we are having a generational shift,” Rupsis said.

As baby boomers retire and millennials step in, Rupsis is asking questions beyond salary and benefits.

“What are younger people looking for from work outside of that? How much is family more important? Is there more a sense of service to the public?

“There seems to be a greater mentality of helping others and social consciousness that keeps millennials staying in one place. If you want to play a role in the world, can you do it here in county government? I just want the conversation to start. I hope it is an ongoing discussion.”
