Chester County Business Owner Clashes with Bernie Sanders on CNN

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders and Chester County small business owner Jim Jacobs could not see eye to eye during a confrontation at a CNN town hall meeting, writes Robb Mandelbaum for Forbes.

Jacobs, who is a Donald Trump supporter and the owner of West Chester’s Focus Insite, opened the discussion by attacking the Obama Administration for, according to him, putting countless regulations on business owners.

“So, really, my question is, this country was founded on entrepreneurship,” he said before asking, “why is this administration so against the business owner?”

Sanders disagreed with this view, prompting Jacobs to scoff at his next comment. Sanders noted that Obama had raised taxes on the top one or two percent, a decision he not only supported, but would have pushed further.

“I am not supportive of large multi-national corporations that make billions a year in profit and don’t pay a nickel in taxes, nor am I supportive of those corporations who throw American workers out on the street, and then move to China or to Mexico,” said Sanders.

Jacobs was not won over by the argument, as he believes Trump will do good things for businesses.

“I want to climb the ladder,” he said. “Trump represents climbing the ladder.”
