Coatesville Businesses Gearing Up for Small Business Saturday

images3ytcuw7gIn preparation for this year’s Small Business Saturday, local business owners have banded together with Coatesville’s 2nd Century Alliance for their first unified day of savings.

Small Business Saturday – on Nov. 26 this year – was created by American Express in 2010 as a way to engage small businesses in the success of special sale days like Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Businesses do not have to accept American Express cards to participate in the nationwide event.

Fuel City Café, JamRock Caribbean Cuisine, Coatesville Flower Shop, Chertok’s Furniture, Coatesville Community Market, and Roots Barber Shop in downtown Coatesville are all participating this year. Businesses will be giving away free gifts, as well as running special promotions, throughout the day.

“This is a great opportunity to not only support local businesses, but the spirit of community as a whole,” said Sonia Huntzinger, Coatesville’s Economic Development Administrator. “This event is for bringing Coatesville together to celebrate the wonderful entrepreneurs that work so hard for our city.”

The Coatesville 2nd Century Alliance was formed in 2015 when the City of Coatesville celebrated its 100th anniversary as an incorporated, third-class city. It is comprised of community stakeholders that represent the city, the county, for-profit and nonprofit companies and organizations, and faith-based entities all working together to ensure Coatesville’s next 100 years are economically sound and prosperous.
