Sculpture, paintings, objects, and furniture spanning 400 years will be featured, including pieces by Alexander Calder, Chuck Close, George Cope, Wharton Esherick, Frank Gehry, George Nakashima, Horace Pippin, and George Whitney.

“A renewal of our Founders’ tradition to celebrate one of life’s vital touchstones, ‘Chester County Collects’ presents fine art works and finely made objects that demonstrate art as a permeating presence in our lives,” said Bill Cook, Board Chair.

“Individuals, families, and institutions have generously shared significant pieces from their collections to allow us to increase the exposure of a diverse range of artwork to our wider community.”

The opening gala will be held Friday evening, and a closing reception will be held on Sunday, Oct. 23.

Several other ticketed events will be offered, including lectures from regional art institution experts and panel discussions on the fundamentals of starting a legacy collection and artists collecting other artists’ work.
