AmerisourceBergen Foundation LogoThe AmerisourceBergen Foundation has awarded a $250,000 donation to Partners in Health, Haiti’s largest nongovernmental healthcare provider, for equipment and the development of its new medical distribution center in the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince.

The philanthropic arm of Chesterbrook’s AmerisourceBergen Corporation, which focuses on supporting health-related causes that enrich the global community, said the new distribution center will serve as the foundation for the new Partners In Health supply chain system.

The center is specifically designed to significantly improve stock management for the 12 health facilities that are supported by PIH in two of Haiti’s poorest regions, the Central Plateau and Artibonite Valley.

“Like AmerisourceBergen, the AmerisourceBergen Foundation is dedicated to supporting efficient and safe access to pharmaceutical care around the globe,” said Gina Clark, President of the Foundation and Chief Marketing Officer at AmerisourceBergen.

She added that AmerisourceBergen will also support this cause by providing expertise from the company’s associates.

“With AmerisourceBergen Foundation’s support, we will be able to serve those most in need in Haiti more reliably, and we thank the Foundation for making this increased medical access possible,” said Dr. Gary Gottlieb, CEO of Partners in Health.
