Sikorsky Aircraft, the Lockheed Martin business unit with facilities in Coatesville, recently won a modification contract of $135.4 million from the U.S. Army for the sale of 24 UH-60M Black Hawk aircraft to the Taiwan government. The project’s completion is scheduled for October 8th, 2018 with most of the work going to the helicopter maker’s Stratford plant.

Moody’s Investor Services is considering lowering its credit rating for Philadelphia if it continues to spend more than it collects in revenues. The West Chester based credit agency has reaffirmed Philadelphia’s current A2 rating on its $1.5 billion in outstanding debt in its new credit report but revised the city’s outlook from “stable” to “negative.”

The globe in Veteran’s Plaza at Gateway Park in the center of Coatesville is sporting a new paint job thanks to PA-771 AFJROTC of Coatesville Area Senior High School. The project took the cadets around two weeks and 190 combined volunteer hours to complete and took close to two years to get approval for this work which, among other things, outlines each continent in black to help them stand out.
