The photographs on display were created as part of a workshop led by Vincent Feldman, a master lecturer in photography at the University of the Arts to memorialize Coatesville’s industrial landscape. To do this, the photographers were given unprecedented access to Lukens Mill 120 which is adjacent to the grounds of the National Iron and Steel Heritage Museum.

The site showcases rich unaltered Victorian interiors of historic family residences together with views of iconic steel structures, among them the Tridents from the Twin Towers and the nuclear submarine sonar sphere which were produced in Coatesville.

“Getting into the mill site was an unprecedented gift,” said Feldman. “It offered us unparalleled visual material and multiple opportunities for historical documentation and artistic interpretation. We are already looking forward to returning for another workshop in May 2017.”

An evening to meet the artists is planned for September 8th from 5 p.m. at the Lukens office at 50 South First Ave. The reception, including refreshments, is open to the public free of charge
