trevenalogo_calogo2487Trevena, a rapidly growing biopharmaceutical company, is about to become the newest tenant in Wayne’s Chesterbrook Corporate Center after signing a 10-year lease on 40,565 square feet there, writes Natalie Kostelni for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Trevena will be moving its headquarters from its current location in King of Prussia to the leased space at 955 Chesterbrook Boulevard. It has also agreed to an option of expanding into an additional 3,055 square feet in the center.

While the company’s lease at its current location does not expire until 2020, its rapid expansion has forced it to look for new offices.

“We are experiencing very strong growth at the moment,” said Maxine Gowen, president and CEO. “We took the company public three years ago, and have had a very rapid growth rate. We hired 25 new employees just this year, and we’re expecting strong growth in the future.”

The move to Wayne was partly prompted by its proximity to the company’s current premises, according to Gowen.

“Our thought was that the employees had already signed up for the commute, but I didn’t want them to find themselves with another 20, 30, or 40 minutes,” she said.
