Immigrants Help Ensure Kennett Square Remains the World’s Mushroom Capital

Kennett Square is in no danger of being dethroned from being the “Mushroom Capital of the World” thanks in part to enterprising immigrants, writes J.F. Pirro for Main Line Today.

By switching from renting to owning mushroom houses, the wave of new citizens is ensuring that Southern Chester County remains the mushroom growing king.

“It’s been amazing to see the growth over the years,” said Kathi Lafferty, coordinator of National Mushroom Month.
