The YMCA of Greater Brandywine offers life-changing programs for families, and has two Chester County careers available.

The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is an association of nine YMCAs that offer life-changing programs for children, families, and adults throughout Chester County. It is a diverse organization of men, women, and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurture the potential of kids, promote healthy living, and foster a sense of social responsibility. The YMCA of Greater Brandywine is the largest non-metro YMCA in the country. In addition, the Association ranks among the top-five percent of YMCAs in the country for Member experience.

Director of Mission Advancement

Under the direction of the Chief Development Officer, this position is responsible for leading the annual fundraising and corporate sponsorship efforts throughout the Association to advance the mission of the YMCA. This includes supporting the branches with their annual campaigns, ensuring that annual Mission Advancement goals are met at each branch, and representing the YMCA of Greater Brandywine in the community to help drive awareness of the YMCA’s programs and impact.

He/she will also develop new partnerships in the public and private sectors to drive sponsorship and corporate membership revenue. The person will also plan events and manage the fundraising records through Rasier’s Edge. The position is based out of the downtown West Chester office.  

The ideal candidate will excel at building and sustaining relationships, exhibit exemplary oral and written communication skills, and possess strong project management skills. Established community relationships in Chester County are preferred. He/she should possess a Bachelor’s Degree, and have five years of experience. The person must have a proven track record in corporate relations and leading large public events. Raiser’s edge experience is required. The starting annual salary range is approximately $65,000-$70,000 based on experience.

Director of Digital Communications and Design

Reporting to the VP of Membership and Program Development, this position develops and implements internet, social media, and digital communications strategies to expand visibility and increase member and community engagement across all digital platforms. As a member of a service-oriented marketing department, he/she will also support the production and design of operational and campaign collateral. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Developing, updating and managing design and content for the YMCA’s website and its microsites.
  • Managing content delivery and quality control for online calendars and smartphone apps.
  • Curating and crafting content for social media channels, e-mail blasts and e-newsletters.
  • Serving as lead troubleshooter for digital systems and liaise with digital communications vendors.
  • Providing as-needed trainings on digital communication tools and software.
  • Creating and managing web-based program and member surveys.
  • Providing campaign strategies based on web analytics and social media success metrics.
  • Managing Google AdWords campaigns and SEO.
  • Using software programs to produce print marketing, video and promotional collateral.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in communications, advertising, journalism, or graphic design. He/she should have a minimum of three years of experience in creating and managing digital content and related systems for web sites, email campaigns, and social media platforms. The person should have a thorough understanding of related technologies that drive digital campaigns and maximize user experiences, including Adobe Creative Suite design tools and Drupal.

The position requires the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, while maintaining a focus on customer service and satisfaction. Digital still and motion image capture and editing skills are highly desirable.
