Stunning Masterpiece Reproductions on Display in Phoenixville through Inside Out Initiative

By

Last year's Inside Out installation in West Chester. The Phoenixville Regional Chamber of Commerce announced the program will make its debut up in northern Chester County this month.

With the help of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the Philadelphia Museum of Art has launched the second half of this year’s Inside Out season by bringing reproductions of eleven stunning masterpieces to Phoenixville.

Inside Out is the arts initiative that brings high-quality reproductions of Museum masterpieces directly into communities throughout the city and the surrounding region. The Phoenixville Regional Chamber of Commerce worked closely with the Museum to bring the coveted exhibition into town.

Ten of the pieces were placed around downtown Phoenixville on August 3rd, at locations such as the Borough of Phoenixville, Phoenixville Foundry, the Historical Society of Phoenixville and next to the Phoenixville Regional Chamber of Commerce’s offices. An eleventh piece will be displayed on Bank Street in the next week or two.

The reproductions include works from the Museum’s world famous American, European, Latin American, and Asian art collection and have been strategically placed within walking or cycling distance of each other. Some are wall-mounted while the rest are free-standing and each is accompanied by a sign describing the origins of the piece.

While guided tours will be available, residents and visitors can plan their own tour using the Art Inside Out interactive map App available from the Google Play and Apple App Stores or simply pick up a map of the event at the Phoenixville Regional Chamber of Commerce offices.
