Cherry Blow Dry Bar, where stylists don’t cut or color hair, but ‘wash, dry and style it’ opened its first Pennsylvania franchise in Paoli Shopping Center in July. “It’s a quicker pace here than in a regular salon,” said Katie Marucci, salon manager and master stylist. “Instead of 2½ hours, here you’re done in 45 minutes or an hour.” The popular franchise is hoping to tap into Main Line market.

Over 200 people attended the public hearing at West Chester University on Wednesday, to express their opinion on the contentious Mariner East 2 pipeline project. The new pipeline, under development by Sunoco Logistics Partners to transport liquefied natural gas from the Marcellus Shale to a terminal in Marcus Hook, is facing significant opposition from landowners and environmental activists.

Ray Maxwell, owner and master chef, celebrated the grand opening and return to the original branding of the Brown Derby on Baltimore Pike on Saturday. The original Brown Derby opened its doors over eight decades ago to local residents who came in droves for its hearty Italian meals, family reunions, and rehearsal dinners. “I’m trying to bring back dining the way it used to be,” said Maxwell. “There will be old-fashioned style service, where servers wear black and white, with a tie.”

The usual practice of school boards in Pennsylvania to meet in an informal private gathering known as a retreat is now coming under scrutiny in the Unionville-Chadds Ford district. Mark Stookey, a local resident and critic of the process argues that the gathering shows a lack of transparency.
