BizBuzz: Five Ways to Use Facebook Live to Promote Your Business

Lately I’ve been using my blog to encourage the use of Facebook Live live-streaming broadcasts to promote your business. Why? Because people are spending three times longer watching live video than other video content. All of a sudden, live video is practically a requirement for generating Facebook engagement (outside of running costly Facebook ads).

Here are five specific ways to use Facebook Live for your business.

#1: Turn Blog into Vlog – One way to use Facebook Live for your business is to discuss a topic that your audience is interested in. For example, maybe you’ve written a blog post on a subject that you know your readers will have questions about.

Although you can answer readers’ comments on your blog, it’s much quicker (and more efficient) to schedule a Facebook Live video session where you can answer many of their questions at once. This encourages your fans to tune in for the live videosession rather than wait for a replay. I’ve been scheduling a live-stream video for every Monday at 12 noon, so my fans know to tune in.

#2: Give a Sneak Peek – You can also use Facebook Live video to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at your business and how you work. You could use a Live video session to share your process and educate people who are looking for this information. You might also focus on an aspect of your business that your target audience would be interested in learning more about.

#3: Promote an Event – Facebook Live is a great way to announce an upcoming event. Once you’ve planned the event, create a post to let fans know you have a special announcement to make. Then, share specific details about your event on your Live video.
When announcing an event on Live video, be sure to share a link with viewers by posting it in the video comments.

You can also use Facebook Live video to stream a live event. Tomorrow, Monday Aug. 8, I will be helping out at the SCCCC Scholarship Golf Tournament and dinner. I’ll be live-streaming from there, both on my Facebook page and on the SCCCC Facebook page.

#4: New Products – Another way to use Facebook Live video is to introduce your fans to new products. For example, if you just received a shipment of a new product, but it’s not yet available on your website, you could use a live video to show it to customers.

#5: Answer FAQ – Identify common questions that your customers ask, and rather than answer the question again and again, you can have a Facebook Live video session to answer the questions. When you’re finished, you’ll have a video archive that you can share with your customer service team or place on your website to reference again and again.
