VIDEO: GETT Leads Girls to a Galaxy of STEM Possibilities

Daring to take Chester County’s girls to a place they’ve never gone before, the Chester County Economic Development Council’s latest Girls Exploring Tomorrow’s Technology conference explored a galaxy filled with science, technology, engineering and math.

“It is a time of female empowerment within STEM careers,” the GETT highlight reel stated. “GETT proves, through fun and education, women can do anything, and they show no signs of stopping.”

GETT’s largest-ever 16th annual event at West Chester East High School attracted more than 600 local girls to 100-plus STEM activities that featured everything from robots and 3D printing to spinal screws, medical devices, rollercoaster design, the creation of lip balm, pharmaceutical science, civil engineering, prototyping electronics and the world of nutrition.

“I hope that what they’ve seen today, especially through some of the exhibits at the expo, I hope that something sparks their interest,” Emcee and NBC 10 Anchor Rosemary Connors said.
