Happening Today: United Way Second Annual PB&J Drive for Chester County Food Bank
United Way of Chester County has started its second annual Peanut Butter and Jelly Drive for the Chester County Food Bank and is looking for donations until June 3rd.
Food pantry supplies are lower over the summer and peanut butter and jelly is the best option due to its mass appeal, grab and go versatility, as well as its abundance of protein, vitamins, and minerals.
The inaugural drive last year received 2.5 tons of peanut butter and jelly items gathered through collection drives at churches, schools, service organizations, and companies.
This year, the drive is again in need of peanut butter and jelly as well as alternative spreads such as soy, almond, and sunflower butters.
“We’re honored to partner with the Chester County Food Bank again this year to help raise awareness about the growing need of food donations” said United Way of Chester County’s CEO Claudia Hellebush.
Donations should be dropped off on June 3rd at the Chester County Food Bank between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at 650 Pennsylvania Avenue in Exton.
Everyone who donates can stick around during the weigh in for a complimentary gourmet PB&J sandwich lunch and discover the top donation team.
