Chester County’s top-notch quality of life offers an abundance of opportunities to seniors, and a University of Health and Wellness event is coming June 2 to outline the best ways for residents to enjoy it all.

The free public health classes will cover vision and macular degeneration, diet and diet planning, emergency preparedness, dental information, affordable housing, hearing loss and memory, and screenings will be available to check for oral cancer, blood pressure, hydration and fall risk. Seniors can also register for a shingles vaccine and find more information on durable medical equipment and handyman services.

It all takes place between 1 and 5 p.m. at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in West Chester thanks to the Chester County Department of Aging Services.

“This is a great opportunity for seniors to take advantage of health screenings and to receive information on the many fine services available in Chester County,” Director Sandra Murphy said.

Call 610-344-6035 to register for the shingles vaccine or 610-594-3911 for a $1 Rover ride to and/or from the University of Health and Wellness (available to seniors 60 and older).
