In recognition of their tenacity, brains, and entrepreneurial spirit, six West Chester Area School District seniors will be presented with scholarships at the West Chester Golf & Country Club during a luncheon Wednesday, May 25, 2016.
While the event marks the start of some very promising careers for half-a-dozen seniors, the presentation of the Greater West Chester Chamber’s Education Foundation scholarships is a tradition that stretches back to 2010 when the West Chester Area Education Foundation created the scholarship fund.
“It started as an idea … where we brought business leaders in this community together and we asked a simple question about what we can do to better prepare our students for the world of work,” West Chester Area School District Superintendent Dr. Scanlon told the Daily Local News.
Dr. Scanlon will also offer a ‘State of the District’ address during the luncheon.
The luncheon begins at 11:00 AM and RSVP’s may be made online at the GWCC’s website.
