When it comes to great jobs, the grass is greener in Chester County.

Forbes just announced its lists of America’s best employers, and several of Chester County’s finest made the ranks — representing an impressive one-third of all Philly area finalists.

“Employees are in the best position to say which companies and organizations are offering the strongest opportunities — so we asked them,” Forbes writer Kathryn Dill wrote in the article introducing the top 500 companies with 5,000 or more staff, based on a Statista survey of 30,000 employees nationwide.

Topping the local performers, according to a Philadelphia Business Journal compilation by Jeff Blumenthal, was Vanguard Financial Services in Valley Forge, at No. 54.

Two leading Chester County healthcare providers followed Vanguard on the list: No. 61 Penn Medicine, including Chester County Hospital, the new Penn Medicine Southern Chester County in West Grove, Penn Medicine Valley Forge in Berwyn and Penn Medicine Radnor; and No. 85 Main Line Health, including Paoli Hospital, Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital in Malvern, Bryn Mawr Hospital, Riddle Hospital in Media and health centers in Exton, Newtown Square and Collegeville.

Also on the list were No. 123 Wawa and No. 297 SAP IT in Newtown Square.

In a related list of America’s Best Midsize Employers, Chester County was represented by No. 72 PECO Energy Utilities and No. 196 Vishay Intertechnology Electronics in Malvern.
