Highway Design Specialist

This position will assist with the preparation of proposals and SOIs, and represent TPD in a professional manner at meetings with clients, stakeholders, and/or the public. He/she will develop, maintain, and monitor design schedules, and keep projects on schedule. The person will also develop, maintain, and monitor design budgets, and keep projects at budget.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and a current E.I.T. or Pennsylvania P.E. license. He/she will have experience with project delivery for PennDOT and PA Turnpike Commission projects. Familiarity with clearance processes (e.g. Environmental, Utility, Right-of-Way) is required.

Transportation Planning Specialist

This position will assist in outside contact and communication pertaining to specific projects, and prepare design computations, quantity estimates, and construction cost estimates for his/her projects within the team. He/she will assist in the analysis of field data, reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs to plan and design projects. The person will also obtain, analyze, and interpret demographic and other regional transportation planning data.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (required) and E.I.T. certification. He/she must have excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as a strong work ethic and ability to work on multiple projects.

Construction Inspectors/Managers

This position will inspect roadway and bridge projects, and test soils, concrete, and bituminous paving. He/she will also review construction schedules, following PennDOT documentation procedures, and oversee, inspect, and monitor contractual field work. The person will maintain project records CDS/NextGen and other construction documentations techniques.

Candidates must have a high school diploma, and at least two years of PennDOT (PADOT) transportation construction inspection experience. Certification in at least one of the following is required: NICET, NECEPT Bituminous, ACI/PennDOT Concrete Technician, and/or CDS/NextGen (field office).
