NBC Interviews West Chester Creators of Viral ‘Puppy Meets Baby Goat’ Video

By

West Chester’s Cadden family, who recorded the adorable bright white puppy meets baby goat video, had no idea that the adorable duo would go to win the hearts of hundreds of thousands of people after being aired on NBC affiliate KING 5.

The video was first noticed by Jim Dever, who spotted it on his sister’s Facebook page. Near-zero temperatures had prompted the family to bring their newly born baby goats into the house to protect them. After one of the newcomers, a four-day-old goat named Zoomer, made his way to meet to Bud, the family’s four-month-old English Golden Retriever, the puppy did not waste any time making friends with the new addition. Dever’s nephew, Sean Cadden, decided to record the encounter, and the rest is history.

Dever then posted the video on the KING 5 Evening show web page, and the delightful pair soon went viral, averaging an enviable four views per second during the first two days after it was posted.  Since then, the video has been shown by newscasters from around the globe, to the astonishment of the Caddens.

Jim Dever decided to do a follow up on the video by interviewing his niece and nephew for KING 5, who joined him with their five baby goats and Bud in tow.  When asked about Bud’s reaction to the baby goat, Sean commented that the dog was “a lot nicer than expected“. His sister Colleen added that the goat was not scared of his playful advances as “She wasn’t trying to get away“.

Bud seemed to be equally fascinated by the new additions to the family during the interview.

“He’s just sitting here staring at all five goats wandering around him,” said Colleen.  “He’s very fascinated by what they’re doing.”
