United Way and ‘Daily Local’ Help Families Struggling to Get By

By

ShareTheWarmth_DLLogoWhile Chester County is a great place to live and work, many in our community struggle to get by. Limited personal and financial resources are having a direct impact on the conditions of homes, resulting in severe physical and financial hardships.

Homes are plagued with problems such as poor insulation, broken or inefficient heating systems, poorly sealed windows, inoperable hot water heaters, non-functional water pipes, leaky roofs and more.

Many homeowners live paycheck to paycheck and are forced to spend a disproportionate amount of their income on energy bills and other emergency housing issues. These challenges are compounded during the winter months with families and individuals striving to stay safe and warm.

United Way’s “Share the Warmth” can help. Helped by a generous QVC contribution of $10,000 this year, this United Way of Chester County initiative, done in partnership with the Daily Local News, has positively impacted 419 families over the last 7 years.

The preventative work done through Share the Warmth partners Good Works and Good Neighbors is what so many in our community need.

Please consider supporting the United Way Share the Warmth program this year and joining many others in our community who know that when we reach out a hand to one, you influence the condition of all, and make Chester County even stronger.

For more information on the program, pick up a copy of the Daily Local News between Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, check out videos on www.DailyLocal.com from some grateful homeowners, or visit www.GiveToShareTheWarmth.com
