“I am thrilled that the CAYPP membership has grown this year,” said Alyson Ferguson, CAYPP manager. “We have 18 youth members participating, including seven who are returning members and will be team leaders and mentors to the new members. It should be an exciting year for all those involved.”

The CAYPP members will learn new nonprofit and business skills, and will have the opportunity to lead and make important funding decisions for area nonprofits. This year, CAYPP will include more opportunities for the youth to get involved and give back to the Greater Coatesville community.

They will meet regularly throughout the school year to learn how philanthropy works, and will research and discuss a myriad of possible philanthropic goals to improve the community before deciding to fund programs that focus on improving public safety.

“We’re so appreciative to Citadel for funding the program so generously, and to the Marshall-Reynolds Foundation for jumping on board this year as well,” said Frances Sheehan, president and CEO. “Both know how much the students have to give back and the need to help the next generation understand the sometimes-complicated world of philanthropy.”
