Assistant Guest Experience Manager

Longwood Gardens has an opening for a full time Assistant Guest Experience Manager / Manager on Duty. We are looking for an individual who will assist in managing the daily operations of the Gardens ensuring the health and safety of our Guests and Staff. In addition this individual will lead our staff on duty in providing world-class guest service delivery at all times, while ensuring consistent and holistic fulfillment of our guest experience and programmatic goals.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5+ yrs experience supervising staff and come from a customer service, retail or hospitality background. Experience managing large scale events is a plus. Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications is a must.

1.22.2015 Did you Know - Longwood GardensVisitor Center Assistant Manager

Longwood Gardens has an opening for a full time Visitor Center Assistant Manager for its Contact Center/Call Center.  Once hired, the Manager will assist in managing the daily operations of the Visitor Center including our Contact Center which handles upwards of 120,000 calls on an annual basis. Responsibilities will include hiring, managing, training and scheduling staff. This individual will assist with crowd control during peak attendance periods, resolve guest issues, and monitor Visitor Center operations.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ yrs experience supervising staff and come from a customer service, non-profit, retail or hospitality background. The individual must be proficient with all Microsoft Office applications as well as background using a point-of-sale system. Knowledge of Call Center Management principals, reporting, guest service standards and familiarity with technical systems is required to fill this position.

Associate Director of Facilities and Information Technology

Longwood Gardens is searching for an Associate Director of Facilities and Information Technology (highest IT leadership role for the organization), who will lead the team responsible for strategy, implementation and support of Longwood Garden’s core technology infrastructure in alignment with Longwood’s strategic direction.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Management, Business Administration or a related field, in addition to seven to ten years of progressive experience in leadership roles in developing enterprise software and hardware solutions.  In addition to strong leadership, this individual must be able to provide hands-on expertise with enterprise communications, network and software development and support to ensure the security, stability and proper functioning of IT systems. Strong understanding of structured development methodologies, quality assurance, and production support in a Microsoft centric environment focused in .Net, IIS, SQL Server, Oracle, POS systems and other leading edge technologies on a primarily Dell hardware platform.

Groundskeeper

Longwood Gardens has an opening for a full-time Groundskeeper. Candidate must be able to perform a full range of grounds and landscape maintenance duties, including all aspects of turfgrass maintenance including turfgrass pesticide applications, sodding, seeding, aeration and leaf and snow removal. Candidate may be responsible for demonstrating and teaching students grounds maintenance skills.

Groundskeeper candidates must have a minimum of an Associate of Science degree in Turf Management, Landscape Maintenance or related degree, or two years experience in groundskeeping, golf course or estate maintenance. Must have a valid driver’s license, equipment operation skills, and be willing to obtain a Pennsylvania Pesticide Applicators license.
