Three Chester County Leaders to be Honored by March of Dimes

March of Dimes, the non-profit organization which works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature births and infant mortality, will recognize three women from Chester County at a special celebratory dinner on October 21st.March Of Dimes

The 26th annual March of Dimes Salute to Women of Achievement dinner and silent auction will be held at the Aronomink Golf Club in Newtown, Delaware County, where Carolyn Comitta, Patricia Knecht, and Marian Moskowitz will be honored for making Chester County a better place to live and work while also helping to improve the health of babies and small children.

West Chester borough mayor, Carolyn Comitta, will receive the Achievement Award for Excellence in the Field of Public Service. Through her position, Comitta is actively involved in the community serving on numerous municipal and volunteer service organizations. Each year she arranges for a group of local high school and college students to participate in an annual conference on health and the environment organized by World Information Transfer, a United Nations affiliate.

Patricia Knecht will be honored by the Achievement Award for Excellence in the Field of Health. After a long and very successful career at the Chester County Intermediate Unit, Kecht was recently named chair of the Immaculata University nursing department. She has dedicated her life to improving the conditions for health professionals at the local, state and national levels.

Marian Moskowitz is going to be presented with the Ellen Ann Roberts Award for Excellence in the Field of Business. An owner, manager, and vice president of Franklin Commons in Phoenixville, Moskowitz’s goal is to keep Chester County a strong, vibrant and economically healthy community.

“The March of Dimes, Chester County Women of Achievement event provides an opportunity to appreciate influential women in our community while supporting the critical work of the March of Dimes,” noted 2015 Chairman Shari Kruzinsky, senior vice president and regional manager, WSFS Bank.“It is so important to recognize women for the outstanding work they do in our community and to demonstrate to future generations the importance of hard work, perseverance, and paying forward your good fortune.”
