RecroPharma Reports Q2 Results

RecroPharma has posted significantly improved results for the second fiscal quarter and the first half of the year.

RecroPharma, based in Malvern, showed strong revenue growth, mostly generated from its development of multiple non-opioid therapeutics for the treatment of acute postoperative pain. Even so, it ended up with a net earnings loss of $0.17 per share or of $1.3 million.

While losses are never good, it does show a significant improvement over the same quarter last year where it lost $2.8 million or $0.36 per share, and puts the company on track for profitability in the long term.

“We have had a strong first half of 2015 with the achievement of several important milestones,” stated Gerri Henwood, RecroPharma’s President, and Chief Executive Officer. “We acquired key assets from Alkermes, including the Phase III-ready IV/IM meloxicam, strengthened our balance sheet with a $16 million private placement in July, and reported positive Phase II results from our Dex-IN clinical trial.“

County Commissioners Coatesville Reads Program

Coatesville Summer Reading Program Receives a Donation from the County

The Coatesville Summer Reading Program has been presented with a check for $3,500 by the Chester County Commissioners to help fund instructor support, education materials, and field trip costs for the program.

The trio recently visited the students, administrators and board members of the program to present the donation in person and congratulate the recipients. Over 130 children ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade participated in the summer reading program, organized by two Coatesville non-profits, Backing Our Young Sons, and Giving Girls Guidance, in partnership with the Coatesville Public Library.

“This year’s Summer Reading Program was the largest ever,” said John Robinson Jr., a volunteer administrator for the program. “Through our partnership with the Coatesville Library and the support of the school district superintendent Dr. Taschner, we were able to focus on helping the children fulfill literacy requirements required by the school district.”

Brandywine in White Coming to the Neighborhood

Vince Moro, a Chadds Ford resident has decided to bring the concept of a gourmet meal in elegant surroundings with a like-minded crowd, interested in donating to local charities on a full and very satisfied stomach.

Inspired by a similar initiative in France, “White Dinners” are exquisite, pop-up gala’s where guests dress in white, pack elaborate picnic hampers and other essentials such as blankets, and head to a mystery location disclosed only a few days before the event.

Each event’s proceeds go to a specific non-profit charity. Last year’s “Brandywine in White” raised over two thousand dollars to support the Friends of Wilmington Parks. The only hint Moro will give this year, is that residents will not have a long drive. “It’s a lovely location with abundant natural beauty, as well as interesting history,” he said.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, August 22, from 5:30 to 10 p.m.
