When he started his job eight years ago, Rob Robillard, vice president of integrated beauty at QVC and HSN, knew there was plenty of potential for modernizing the two legacy retail brands, writes Priya Rao for The Glossy Beauty Podcast.

“I felt like there was so much opportunity when I started,” said Robillard. “Here was a platform that I felt was so powerful, when you think about the fact that women today are so engaged with storytelling.”

Robillard made it his goal to tap into that potential in a modern and different way.

One of the things he did after joining the West Chester-based television shopping network was bring back Beauty Bash and make it bigger and better than ever. The event where customers got the chance to mingle with their favorite personalities and brands was on pause for eight years because people complained there were not enough tickets available.

He also introduced a new standard: QVC Clean Beauty and HSN Clean Beauty.

“It really just helps the customer figure out which brands are formulated without the ingredients that they don’t want in their products,” he said.
