SkillSurvey Of Wayne Shatters Millennial Stereotypes With New Report

Vanguard says that despite what you may have heard, young people are preparing for retirement responsibly.

Seasoned bosses who are critical of younger employees may need to loosen up a bit.  A Wayne company that performs automated reference checks for thousands of job candidates found that, according to their references, Millenials don’t exactly fit their negative stereotypes.

In a recent Forbes report, SkillSurvey CEO Ray Bixler said the study shatters stereotypes of millennials as lazy, demanding or hard to manage employees; rather, it found them eager, dedicated and ethical.

However, the 20- and 30-somethings could use a little improvement in managing their time, paying attention to detail, making decisions and creating compelling presentations.

“It’s a truism that each older generation in the workforce bemoans the sloppy habits and jaunty attitudes of young people. Somehow, the economy carries on anyway,” the article stated. “Either the newcomers become more careful and subdued — or perhaps the workplace culture simply loosens up a bit, generation to generation.”

SkillSurvey analyzed the responses of at least four references, on average, for each of more than 6,000 entry-level job applicants.
