Is A Third Comcast Tower In The Works?

Liberty Property Trust (NYSE: LPT) of Malvern, according to a report in Philadelphia Business Journal, acquired a surface lot at 19th and Arch streets in Philadelphia. The property is part of a block the company has been assembling for some time for what many believe will be the site for a third tower for Comcast Corp.

Liberty paid $2.45 million to buy what is a 10,720-square-foot surface parking lot at 1931-1937 Arch Street from a the Cherry Hill-based owner.

PBJ stated its sources in the commercial real estate market, “have said that a third Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCSA) tower is in the works and that bidding on the project is in the initial stages.”

Chester County Small Businesses Receive State Energy Grants

State Senator Andy Dinniman announced Wednesday that seven Chester County companies have been awarded $50,340 in total state funding to invest in energy-efficiency projects.

The grants, which come through the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s Small Business Advantage Grant Program, help small businesses cut costs and increase profitability while benefiting the environment.

The Chester County Companies receiving the state grants include:

  • Casmos Liquor LLC will receive $9,500 to replace and upgrade its HVAC system.
  • Deer Creek Malthouse LLC will receive $9,500 to replace and upgrade its HVAC system.
  • 243 World Domination LLC will receive $9,500 to replace and upgrade its HVAC system.
  • Paoli Cleaners Inc. will receive $9,500 to replace its oil-fired burner with a high efficiency gas-fired burner.
  • Swann’s Pantry Inc. will receive $6,902 for energy efficient lighting upgrades.
  • Greg A. Vietri Inc. will receive $3,841 to upgrade its warehouse lighting.
  • The Clean Store LLC will receive $1,597 to install a tankless water heater.

West Goes “On The Road”

West Pharmacueticals (NYSE: WST) launched the first of three “West On The Road” video series showcasing West’s commitment to quality and innovation on Monday. The series features West facilities around the world and offers a rare look inside West’s walls and at the team members who drive continuous-improvement initiatives.

The first video (below) goes inside West’s Jersey Shore, PA plant. Despite the familiar name, there’s no beach or boardwalk here. Jersey Shore is a town nestled Pennsylvania’s Allegheny foothills where, employees create numerous West components, including FluroTec® and Teflon® laminated 13- and 20mm stoppers. It’s the only West facility that includes two steam sterilizers to process sterile Westar® RU (ready-to-use) components.
