The House of Original Dreams Expands In Exton With New Facility, More Outreach

By

A new facility and logo are helping more youth get a new lease on life at The HOOD: A Partnership for Youth Employment, and an open house celebration of the one-stop shop for access to further education and training, career development and job opportunities in Exton is coming Thursday, April 9.

“Our organization is forever growing and expanding, and we are focused on improving our services to make them more effective for young people,” Workforce Development Manager Lila Singleton said in a recent public invitation to the event.

“All of our partners, representatives from school districts and youth services, and the general public are welcome to attend, giving us an opportunity to showcase our new premises and our services.”

The 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. showcase of The HOOD’s move to Suite 350 at 479 Thomas Jones Way will feature comments from the Chester County Commissioners at noon and information from staff of the Chester County Workforce Investment Board and the Council for the Workforce of Tomorrow about The HOOD’s in-school programs for youth ages 12 to 18 and out-of-school services for youth ages 16 to 24.

Some programming changes stem from new Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act regulations being implemented on July 1, 2015.

RSVP to attend the open house by emailing Roslyn Roberts at rroberts@chesco.org or calling 610-344-6929 by April 3.
