Did You Know?
Chester County is a net exporter of workers and only a tiny fraction of those traveling to jobs outside the county use public transportation to get to their job.
Of the 161,540 that commute to or from Chester County everyday for work, 52 percent (83,720) leave Chester County for work in Montgomery, Delaware, Philadelphia or one of the other five neighboring counties.
Not including the 29 percent of Philadelphia-bound Chester County commuters using SEPTA’s R5 rail line to get to their jobs in Philadelphia, roughly 1 percent of daily commuters traveling into or out of the county utilize public transportation.
