West Chester Architect A. Stevens Krug Named To Wolf Committee

By

Lawmakers have put the finishing touches on PA's 2016-2017 budget that Gov. Wolf is set to sign.

A. Stevens Krug, a West Chester architect well-known for his work in sustainable design, now chairs the Climate Change Advisory Committee of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

Krug, a committee member since 2011, was elected by 16 institutional, commercial, civic and advocacy appointees.

Krug said he is excited to promote energy efficiency state-wide in construction, energy codes, financing, transportation and urban forestry. He aims to create green jobs and reduce carbon emissions in the state.

A LEED-accredited professional, Krug’s experience in sustainable design extends to award-winning public sector projects, education buildings and large commercial / residential facilities.

The former president of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, Krug is active in the Pennsylvania School Boards Association, the Chester County Economic Development Council’s Smart Energy Initiative, the West Chester Area Building Code Appeals Board and the West Chester Area Education Foundation.

“As an architect I’m always looking for a smart solution that balances the needs of my client with the needs of the community,” said Krug.  “The big picture and best practices influence my work.”
