With the new year comes a new deal for Wayne-headquartered Tekni-Plex. It was itself acquired in 2013 by private equity firm American Securities, the manufacturer of packaging and tubing materials — largely for medical, food and pharmaceutical uses — recently extended its global reach on the Asian continent with the acquisition of Indian cap seal supplier Ghiya Extrusions Private Limited.

Last year, it was American seal maker Tech-Seal Products Inc. This year, Ghiya Extrusions will help bolster Tekni-Plex’s operations in India and the rest of Asia, according to a Deal Curry report.

“Ghiya Extrusions provides a great platform for Tekni-Plex to offer our existing and new Indian customers localized production of Tekni’s closure liner products for pharmaceutical, food and FMCG markets,” CEO Paul Young said in a press release. “It also enables Tekni to offer Ghiya products through its existing channels in India and Asia. We are particularly excited that Mr. Nakul Ghiya, the guiding force behind the business, will remain with the company and be a key player in growing Tekni’s business in India and in the region.”
