Lending its self-storage management expertise to a Virginia property owner, Malvern-headquartered CubeSmart helped turn a new 90,000-square-foot self-storage operation into the Mini-Storage Messenger’s 2014 Facility of the Year, according to a MarketWatch report.

“This store is a great example of how a terrific partnership can result in tremendous success for all involved, and why we have continued to see such significant growth in our third-party management program,” Vice President Guy Middlebrooks said in the article.

That program, which has grown to 173 locations, fueled a dramatic 65 percent-plus occupancy rate within the site’s kickoff year.

“We are most proud of being part of the CubeSmart brand and all of the benefits it has to offer,” facility owner Noah Mehrkam said. “Not only do we have a wonderful operations team that has led a very successful lease-up, but the dedicated resources at CubeSmart were very instrumental in aiding us in creating the right unit mix for the market early in the process.”
