As former Chester County Board of Commissioners Chairman Ryan Costello prepares to serve Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, his local replacement will fill his vacant seat on the county board Monday.

The Court of Common Pleas of the County of Chester has selected Michelle Haris Kichline to lead the county in Costello’s absence, according to a recent press release. She was one of six candidates for the position, all of whom were interviewed.

Rep.-elect Costello is set to be sworn in as a Congressman at noon on Jan. 3, 2015, when a new U.S. Congress is convened.
